Beautiful campground … but I just want to keep moving

It was one of those great campgrounds.  We parked about 200 meters from the ocean, looking across the gulf to the Flinders Ranges.

But there wasn’t anything really to do …  the kids all went swimming but when they quickly got back out Peter explained, “The water’s as clear as ice, Mum.  But there’s just one problem … it’s as cold as ice, too.”   Not that it actually stopped them for long, though … they kept going back into the water for ten minutes at a time.

Sunrise was beautiful over the mountain range on the horizon, and the ocean to look at.  Even better, though, was the moon-rise.  It was a full moon…and the reflection on the gulf made it look like a shimmery staircase to the moon.

It was pretty, but a few days of very little to do and I was really ready to move on. It was great having a few days to do very little.  Peter played with his lego for ages.  Edmund wandered around making a mess of everything he could, and bugging his siblings if they didn’t entertain him.  The girls just did art and craft for hours on end.

I’m getting frustrated that we’re still in South Australia.  It was mid-October last year when we first got to South Australia, and I want to finally see the Eyre Peninsula and Nullabour … but more than that, I want to go to a new state.
